Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
Sorry, no bright hearts to share or lovely pink quilts. But I did finish a darling baby quilt!
Remember these fabrics I won from Stephanie over a Quarter Incher for guessing the gender of her new baby? There were two fat quarters of some Briar Rose prints and two half yard cuts of some Art Gallery solids.
Well, I quickly turned them into this cute little Plus pattern baby quilt. There was just enough fabric in the bundle to put together this quilt that measures 35" x 42".
It was a fun challenge to come up with a design that fit the limited amount of fabric.
For the quilting, I simply echoed each "plus". This helped to really bring out the plus symbol among all those solids.
I had an older Beatrix Potter green and white toile that I was able to use for the backing. I thought it worked well with the fun animals in the Briar Rose prints.
The echo quilting really created a fun pattern on the back of the quilt.
And because it is Valentine's Day and this quilt has some red in it, I thought I would share. My friend just finished her Plus quilt and brought it to me to be quilted. I think she did a great job with the colors!
