A Round Finish

When you quilt for others for a living, you never know what quilt jobs you are going to be challenged with.  It has been a while since I shared one of my customer's quilts and I thought this one you would like to see!

Not too long ago, one of my clients brought to me a gorgeous round paper pieced quilt.  It was about 72" wide and she planned on displaying it on a big wall..  When you load this up on a longarm frame, the backing is a large square and you "float" the top (which means it is not pinned to the frame).  The challenging part can be keeping it round!

The colors in this one are beautiful.  But that also meant a lot of thread color changes for me.

It is always fun to work on something different - especially when it is a lovely as this quilt!

Have a great weekend!

Not sure I could keep something square, much less round. Your quilting is gorgeous! Do you have any idea how she is going to hang it so that it stays round?

I never thought about what a challenge it would be to quilt something round! It's a beautiful bright quilt and your quilting is wonderful! Like Libby, I wonder how it will be hung!

It's a beautiful quilt. You've done a great job on the quilting. It must be tricky to quilt a round quilt. Thanks for linking up with TGIFF hosted @ Anja Quilts.

Really, really amazing! But also sounds challenging. You are such an artist - lucky quilter to have you to bring her quilt to!

I love the quilting you've done on this Christmas Celebration quilt. I have a flimsy like this in the closet because I am afraid to try quilting it. Could I send it to you? Thanks!

That's so interesting Cynthia, I have had to do a round quilt yet, but I imagine they would certainly be a challenge. Love the quilting you have done on this one. I know what a pain thread changes can be, but when you get a result like this quilt of your client's it is worth it. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Cynthia,

This quilt looks like a real challenge - amazing colours and fabulous quilting. I have only ever made a round quilt the size of a dinner plate and still couldn't keep it a proper circle.

Thank you for linking up with Free Motion Mavericks!

Love, Muv
