May is for Makers - Quiet Play

May Is For Makers | LRstitched.com
When I saw information start popping up on my Instagram and Bloglovin' feed about the May is for Makers campaign started by Lindsey/LRStitched, I knew I would be participating.  As a maker myself, I know the time that goes into writing blog posts and free tutorials/patterns, the work required to create projects to inspire others and the cost of all those materials to complete projects that are happily shared.  It made me pause and realize that I need to take some time and open my wallet to thank those independent pattern designers that inspire me.

So in the month of May, I will be buying patterns from designers that I want to personally thank for sharing their talents with me.

What I struggled with all day Monday was whether I would share my support for these designers on my blog like I am on my Instagram account.  My intent for participating in this event is not to imply that my patterns should be purchased. I just really want to send some love and appreciation to some designers that have given me so much.   After much thought, I finally realized that by not sharing on my blog, I am not highlighting these designer as they should be...so here goes!

This week I am highlighting Kristy at Quiet Play.  She mainly designs paper pieced patterns and over the years, I have purchased a few but downloaded many that she has offered for free.

Today I purchased one of her newest pattern releases.  It is the Geo Alphabet.  I love all of her Geo patterns but I know this one I will put to good use.

Thanks Kristy for all that you share and your inspiration!

I love Kristy's patterns too! I have a large collection of them. I bought a couple of her patterns yesterday for the May is for Makers event, and because I know I will enjoy them. I have done pattern testing for Kristy as well, which means some emailing back and forth, and I've got to tell you that girl is a riot. Her emails are so entertaining, I just love reading them. I'll bet she would be fun to hang out with.

This is such a good idea! I have also benefited from Kristy's patterns. When I was participating in her And Sew On BOM, I won a set of her original paper-pieced letters! That felt lucky! Today, I'm going over to Craftsy and buying Wiggle Time! I've always liked that pattern of yours, and it's been sitting in my cart for way too long!
