Summer Solstice Quilt Along

I have been hoping for a good quilt along to participate in this summer.  There have been a few I have considered but they were just not quite what I was yearning for.

Well my wish was answered and in a couple days, the Summer Solstice Quilt Along with Melissa over at Happy Quilting is starting!  If you have not participated in one of Melissa's quilt alongs you have been missing out.

This one will be my fourth time sewing along.  You can see my previous finishes here, here, and here.

Here is a picture from Melissa's site of the pattern.  Isn't it wonderful!  I am going to make mine the picnic size with nine 24" blocks.

I have decided to try and use two shades of teal for the background.  I haven't quite decided what will go where - it will depend a bit on how the instructions are written.

For the stars, I pulled some reds, oranges and yellows from my stash.
I don't think I will need to do any shopping for this quilt!

There is still time for you to join in the fun.  The cutting instructions come out on Thursday of this week.  You can read more about it and find the schedule and fabric requirements here.
Anyone else in on this one?

I think you have plenty of fabric to do the job

I'm in. Picked my fabrics last week. I had to order background fabric because I am ambitiously making a queen size for my bed. It's been a few years since I had a new quilt there. I'm pretty excited to start this one.

Your picnic prints look great! I'm in using Amy Butler Love prints with a white background!

I'm not at a good place for starting a new project. This one looks great tho and the fabric pull y showed us is so bright and summery. It will be fun to watch this come together,

That's going to be a gorgrous quilt! I love the bright prints you chose for the stars! It was fun looking back at the other quilts you've done with Melissa's QALs, and I think this one will be a lovely one, too!

I love Melissa's design! I can't wait to see your progress and its great not to have to buy fabric! I really like how there are some curves in this block. Guess I better go check it out. Just to satisfy my curiousity!

Love your turquoise background fabric! I want to join, I really do. However, I'm doing two other blocks of the month, plus one charity bee, and donating charity blocks to another organization, plus a quilt for the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild's drive. Then there are the WIPs that I already have going... I need more time to sew!

Love the colors you've picked for the quilt along. Those are going to make a gorgeous quilt.

I hate it when I have to be all mature-like and say NO to ANOTHER quilt along!! I have MORE THAN ENOUGH on the go already. Thanks for the invitation (and I really do want to join in the fun!)
