Charming Plus Progress

I am just popping in today to share my progress on the charming plus quilt (A quilt along being hosted by Quilty Therapy).

I decided to cut my squares at 3.5" and use only two fabrics in each block.  Once I had everything cut, I paired up fabrics and have them stacked up next to my sewing machine so I can finish them up as a leader/ender project.

Hopefully soon I will have a pile of blocks to share!

Leader/ender sewing is the best - like getting something for nothing. It's amazing how quickly the blocks mount up.

Looks like those are going to be a pretty color combination! I'm still figuring out if I can/want to particiate or not. Started cutting squares from a charm pack of Kate Spain that I have, and then realized that wouldn't necessarily work because I'd need 5 squares of a fabric to make the plus. (And each charm would only give me 4). Oops! I may be making some other kind of block with those squares! Lol!

I love plus quilts and think this kind of block would be fun sometime. I love the colors you selected.

I see another great scrap quilt with this one! I like that you are using only 2 colors/prints. I know you...you should have a stack in no time at all!

Ooh..I really like the colors being used in the first block. Hum, I'm pretty sure I have that same black and white fabric...

I love leader ender projects! I've ended up with a number of 'free' quilts this way! Right now I'm working on a bunch of leftover 2inch squares. Your scrappy project have really inspired me!

Love the fabrics you've got ready to go. I love using leaders and enders, it really helps with the effort to move a project forward without costing you on your higher priority quilts.

My plus quilts have all been of the overlapping kind, not the nine patch. Have to have it all laid out, then sew together in rows. Five squares of each fabric, and then fill in around the edges with ones, twos, threes, and fours. Fun and a great scrap buster.
