Charming Plus Finish

In October, I decided to join Tisha at QuiltyTherapy for her Charming Plus QAL.  I thought it would be a great way to use up more of my black and white scraps.

Some lime green, turquoise and yellow scraps would be a fun colorful addition.

I sewed all the blocks as a leader/ender project.   In no time at all I had a finished quilt.

All of my squares were cut at 3.5" so the quilt measures about 54" by 63".

I was able to pull some older stash for the backing.  I didn't have quite enough of the blue and yellow plaid but adding a bit of yellow along the edge worked perfectly.

I used the piecing as a guide for some puzzle piece quilting.  It adds such a fun detail.

Here s a view from the front so you can see how it works with the blocks.  Lines with bumps are just quilted horizontally, then you just do the same thing vertically.

How happy, scrappy is this quilt!?!

Want to see some more finished Charming Plus quilts?  Head over to Tisha's blog.

Happy Friday Everyone!!

I love the colors you chose for this one, and the puzzle quilting is such a fun idea. I have a few more blocks to make and then I can start sewing my plus blocks into rows. Ready to get back to it, after we get home tonight from visiting my mom! Happy Friday!

That's the perfect size for charity quilts for a group that I donate to. Thanks for showing this quilt. I hope to make up a couple.

Love your fabrics and quilting. I used 5" squares but I would like to make another one in 2-1/2" squares. You did a great job.

The colors...especially with the black and white! Do you keep track of how many quilts you make a year?! Just curious!

looking at all the comments, this is a popular quilt! I like it too! just wondering: did you quilt the puzzle pieces free hand? or do you have a long-arm? I'm working on my CharmingQAL, too, but I'm not nearly as far. busy time of year for me, more so than usual....
