Oh Scrap! : More Red String Blocks

Over the weekend, I haven't had too much time to sit and sew.  The weather was so warm and beautiful Friday afternoon, I decided to head outside and dig in the dirt a bit.  It was wonderful!

I did get the rest of my red scrappy strings sewn up into 6" string blocks.  I ended up with a total of 28 blocks - which is not enough to really do anything with so I will just store them for later.

I still have quite a few red scraps but they are nice big chunks and I just don't want to cut them up into smaller pieces.  They all fit nicely in my color bin without being squished so I think I will say I am finished sewing with red for the month of March.

Time to move on to something new!

Reds are one of those colors that a little goes a long way. Maybe that's why some of us don't have as much in our scrap bins? Lots of strong and vivid reds in your blocks, very dramatic.

I am loving all the red this month! A question I have for you is - do you usually put a sashing around all your string blocks before completing the quilt top? I'm trying to decide if my string star will need some sashing!
