Improv Stripes QAL

Happy September!
That means summer is almost over and fall is just around the corner.  That makes me happy!

Here is my finish today.  It is my #improvstripes I made following Debbie's (A Quilter's Table) quilt along.  It measures just over 50 x 65".  I really like how it turned out!

I restricted myself to bright blues, red and a bit of bright yellow.  Love those primary colors.  I paired those with black, whites and a few bits of gray.

On the back, I used an older striped stash find with a black print added on to make it big enough.

For the quilting, I used a black thread and quilted squares/lines all going in different directions.
Improv geometric quilting!

A big thanks to Debbie for hosting.  It was sure a lot of fun!
(You can see lots of other versions on Instagram under #improvstripesqal.)

Happy Friday!

You really rocked this improv! I think your color boundaries really helped tie the quilt together so it has a definite 'story'. Awesome!

What a fun modern quilt. The bits of yellow rally brighten it up.

I love how it turned out too! It's modern with its limited colour palette and its interesting setting ... unpredictable I think I'm trying to say!

I love how your Improv Stripes turned out! The bright reds and blues combined with black, white, and yellow are so happy and fun. I really like that you were able to make it such a nice size, too - that makes it useful as well as beautiful!

Love the colour scheme in this one, plus the wider pieces of black.

Love this! It's colors work well together and the neutrals provide a little relief from the riot of blues and reds. Who'd have thought that black doesn't take away from the happy vibes? Great finish!
