Oh Scrap! : Geese Migration

One of the great things about publishing patterns, is you get to see all the beautiful quilts made using your designs.  One of my designs is Geese Migration.

Remember this quilt?

Teaching quilters how to use scraps to colorwash these blocks and sew up this quilt is one of the workshops I offer.  Some previous students and other bloggers have been working on these blocks and it was suggested I host a link-up to inspire folks to finish more blocks.

Maybe even inspire folks to start their own quilt!

It is always fun to see how different each block look based on the scraps that are used.  It is one of my favorite classes to teach!

if you want some fun inspiration!

You can also find a pattern sheet here.  The blocks would also make a great Rainbow Scrap Challenge project.

Here is a photo of my original Geese Migration quilt.  Seeing this makes me want to make one more!

So next Sunday, in addition to our usual Oh Scrap, I would love to see lots of people link up their Geese Migration blocks or quilts.  Feel free to share some new blocks or link up an older post showing off what you have made with this pattern.

I can't wait to see them!

*********************************************************

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!
Quilting is more fun than Housework

So if you love scrappy projects, feel free to grab my button for your sidebar or posts and get ready to share all your wonderful projects from scraps.  And if you have a great idea for using scraps and would like to be featured, feel free to contact me!

Still my favorite! I was all set to take mine to the LAQ a couple of weeks ago until I couldn't find the back I had prepared for it. It will definitely be the next one I take.

It is a great block and a gorgeous quilt. I will consider to start another Rainbow quilt this year...but not sure this will fit my full basket.

I forgot how much I love this block and quilt! It's definitely on my to-do list. Maybe I should make it an RSC project.

I haven't seen your Geese Migration before. It's great! I love the colorwash. When I first saw it, I thought it was your current RSC. Looks like the same colors.

Where can I purchase the pattern? I have a huge box of fabric samples I got at Good Will and this would be a great block to use them for.

I love those geese migration blocks! Scrappy but monochromatic makes for such beautiful quilts.

Now I almost wish you hadn't posted your beautiful Geese Migration - I fell in love with your pattern when I spotted it in a magazine. You might remember I made a start with Rainbow Scrap Challenge but ran out of steam!! I think I do have to make this one, I'll add it to my list!!
