Oh Scrap! : Bouncing Around

My busy longarm quilting season is finally winding down and I am able to take a breather for about a month as my clients focus on the holidays and not quilting.

I always look forward to this time of year!

What little time I have spent in my sewing room, has been spread over a number of projects.  I am still working on the green/brown 16 patch blocks.  I have not landed on a final layout but I seem to be continuing on with this staggered look as I put them on the design wall.

As I was cutting my 2.5" squares from the brown scrap bin, I decided to cut enough 2.5 x 4.5 pieces for a brown zigzag block to add to one of my RSC quilts for next year.

And the last block is all laid out for my postage stamp quilt and just needs sewing.  Maybe there will be a finish to share before the end of the year!

So are you finding time to sew your scraps this time of year?  I hope you share!

Glad that you are able to focus on your own projects for a bit. I do like the staggered look for the green blocks. I'm sure the blocks will let you know how to put them together.

I'm glad you're getting to that slowing down part of the year! I bet you'll enjoy the time to do whatever you want! I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen with both of your projects.

I often wonder how those of you that do long arm quilting for others have time to make your own quilts! enjoy your time when it slows down

I think you deserve a break and am glad your longarm for clients has slowed down. I have a feeling that postage stamp quilt will be finished soon, which is exciting...I'm anxious to see it!

Your quilt projects are coming along nicely. Smart thinking adding to your RSC project while you had those brown scraps on the cutting table! I'm really looking forward to seeing how your Postage Stamp quilt turns out. I have a feeling that the colorwash effect is going to be gorgeous!!

Good to see you still moving along on those earthy green and brown blocks. I've yet to try a staggered setting so you will probably inspire me to give it a try.

Watching that green/brown project with great interest! I'm really looking forward to seeing how it works out.
And I'm crazy about your postage stamp quilt - can't wait to see how that one finishes, too!
Enjoy your sewing time! I was wondering how busy you'd be this time of year, what with people trying to get quilts finished for the holidays!

You look like you are getting a lot done! Doesn't it feel great to get all those scraps moving to a project. And, before you know it you will have some completed quilts! Keep moving forward.

There's plenty of scraps left on my cutting table after my finish. Yards of varying shades of dark blue. I made a bag last night and the plan is to use them up instead of putting them in the drawer. Thank you for the linky party.
