Oh Scrap! : Preparatons for 2019

The end of the year is coming up quickly. I have been working hard to clean up my sewing room and finish as many projects as possible in 2018.

I finished up the last block on my postage stamp quilt.

This block was in an area of the quilt where a lot of colors come together.  Once I got it up on the design wall in its place, it looks like it is going to fit in just fine!

In fact, look at what is all sewn up and waiting with its backing for me to quilt it up next on the longarm.
I can't wait to show you this one.  I think I have finally decided how I am going t quilt it so we are all going to have to wait and see how it turns out!

I had a bunch of leftover 1.5" squares so I have been slowly sewing them up into four patches.  I will just toss them in my orphan block suitcase for later use in a scrappy quilt.  No use wasting all those cut pieces.

Now I find myself with two empty design walls.  So on the small one, I have put up my Sew Kitschy paper pieced blocks.  This wall hanging is going in my kitchen.  I really want to create a fun pieced sashing but I am limited on size.

It will be a project for this week.

And on the bigger wall, I will be starting to lay out my Splendid Sampler.  I still need to make about a dozen blocks but first I need to decide on a layout.  That will help me know for sure what I still need to make.  This one will take a while I fear.

Now, one final thing....InLinkz has just released a new link-up format.  I have no idea how this is going to affect our Oh Scrap! link up.  You might need to sign up or create an "account" the first time you link up.  It will be a new experience for everyone!

I am not even too sure what the link up will look like or if what I did will even work!
Thanks for your patience....

Yours is the second blog I follow which has this new inlinks design. Unfortunately, I can not view the links. All I get is the little frog icon over and over while it says it is loading. Hope this is only a wrinkle in the new set up.

I experience the new link up last week on another blog. I had clicked the 'save the info' the first time and it worked perfectly smooth this time. We have to keep up with the new technology! The postage stamp blocks looks so nice, going to be a lovely rainbow quilt. Peaceful Christmas!

Well that was fun!! I always freak out when I have to do something new, learn some new technology! But it worked and all is well in tech world! Your postage stamp quilt is so gorgeous. You really nailed the gradation of each color. I cannot wait to see what's up your quilting sleeve! It seems like you are making progress on all your WIPS! Keep going, one day you'll have all your design walls empty! I say that laughingly!!! You have too many ideas and too much fabric to leave walls bare!

Your postage stamp quilt is really amazing! It represents so much time and effort to get every little piece just where you wanted it. Beautiful! Love the Sew Kitschy blocks, too - I'm glad you're getting them back out. Merry Christmas, Cyndy!

Hi, just wanted to say, I was here to link up, finally have a project again, but the link conditions are harder now. I have to log in just to link up... sad... my world gets smaller and smaller. It was fun while it lasted, and I see some hardy souls can overcome the technology...
Love your quiet play kitchen blocks. LeeAnna

Oh! So looking forward to see your gorgeous postage stamp quilt in ALL its glory. The last block fits in so perfectly. I can only imagine the size of your scrap collection to be able to pull a block like that! I feel like a child at Christmas time; the anticipation is so much fun.
Did the linky sign up on first try. No glitch here. Have a wonderful Holiday! ;^)

I am looking forward to seeing how the rainbow postage stamp quilt finishes. The Splendid Sampler blocks do take a bit of time, so planning a layout in advance is a very wise idea. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

Having trouble commenting, Safari doesn’t want to add mine.

Seems like Google and Blogger or Safari are fighting, but here I am, to say the Kitchy blocks are delightful. Congratulations on your finished top. The insets are a nice addition.

Your postage stamp quilt is fabulous. I sure hope you get the quilting done soon. I'm looking forward to seeing it. The only concern I have is my computer said the connection was unsecured. Not sure what it meant but ... I went ahead and loaded up my blog with no problem.
