Oh Scrap! : A Tiny Bit of Progress

Actually, "Oh Crap!" would explain my week best.
Our area was hit by a big snow storm last Sunday night and I had no power for 5 days.
So not much sewing for me!

Once it was restored, I did work a bit on my scrappy gray 16 patches.  I need just 12 more blocks.

Prepping the squares and laying them out on design boards was something I could do without electricity so I have lots prepped and waiting to be sewn.

Now it is time to share what you have been doing with your scraps!

*********************************************

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

wow no power for 5 days - that must have been rough, I guess that is when sewing by hand comes in handy!

Yikes - that must have been a frustrating week! Hope things are looking up, weather-wise and in your studio! Colorado has been getting hit this weekend. Ugh!

Am just south of you some 50 miles. Ours went out Sunday evening also. Thank the Lord for generators or we would not have had heat. After it coming on late Wednesday night I was for sure sewing the next day. Didn't realize how much I would miss it. This white stuff can go away anytime now! Take care!

Brr!! No power for 5 days? I'm sorry you missed out on SEW many stitching hours!

5 days! Nooo! Glad you could prep for sewing at least. (At times like that a treadle comes in handy.) Seriously, though that’s a long time without power. I hope spring weather comes soon.

Wow...five days is a long time. We had snow last night, so there was lots to shovel. But no power loss. More snow coming tonight. I'm ready for winter to be over.

Eek! And I complain because our power has gone out 4 times in about 2 weeks but nothing longer than 5 hours or so. Do you have a generator to keep you warm or??? I like using little design boards for blocks too. Glad you were able to get a little sewing done. Hopefully, some day soon the weather will quit being cold, the rain will give us a break and we won't be seeing any more snow this winter. HA! I can dream can't I?

Hopefully you have a secondary heat source. No power makes for long boring days.

We lost our power once for 4 days and even with 2 generators going, it got so tiresome at the end. Not fun but life happens.
Meanwhile, these black, grays blocks are chic, imo.

I will never complain when our power goes out for a few hours again! I cannot imagine having no power for 5 days especially in a snow storm! We always think it could be worse...but I don't see how!! Glad you are back on track!

I'm so glad you finally got power again! But "Oh Crap" might be a great idea for a quilting Linky party, where we all link up all of the things we cut too short or sewed on upside-down and backwards... :-)

Five days seems a little too long!! ( ha ha) I am so glad you are back to power and hopefully some warmth? My house would have gotten bitter cold by then!! Happy quilting!

I'm a bit behind in my blog reading and just seeing this now. I took a peak at where you live, because I was wondering which snow storm hit you-- I didn't realize you were in Oregon. I'm going to travel there for the first time ever this summer. And I'm going to spend a day at Sister's Quilt Show. Are you going? =)
