Color Block Rainbow Scrap Challenge Finish

Sometimes the simplest scrap quilts become a favorite of mine!

I finished up my Rainbow Scrap Challenge color block quilt this week.  Isn't it pretty?!

The blocks are simply made with 2.5" squares grouped by color.  All from the scrap bin!

With such an explosion of color in the blocks, I thought it needed a hot pink binding.
For the quilting, I simply used a serpentine stitch in a dusty plum color along all the seams.

I wanted to keep this one gender neutral but I just couldn't pass up this fabric for the backing.  It had been gifted to me months ago and I just haven't made a top that suited it.
These two look amazing together!

Who can have a gray day snuggled in a quilt like this!

I was originally going to donate this one but I think I might take it on the road for a while and use it in my trunk show.  It is a great example of how scrap quilts can be simple and bursting with color!

This is an excellent example of how our scraps can be used to create a beautiful quilt. I have loved your quilts since I was introduced to them beginning with Geese Migration.

I love it - like you say - very colorful - I need to make up more like this too - I am using a lot of my fabrics in 2.5 inch squares too and it is working up so well

Absolutely beautiful! I have a whole bin of 2" squares that would be perfect for a pattern like this!

When I saw your post on Bloglovin this morning, "Wow!" was my first thought! I love it, including that perfect backing and binding! You should definitely keep it as part of your trunk show - I would love to see it in person.

how big is your Rainbow beauty?

It's a juicy Lucy quilt, for sure! Bright and bold and fun! The simple quilting really works well, too. Do you use your machine's serpentine stitch, or kinda free-hand it? Either way, it's a super finish :)

You do have an excellent eye for colorizing scrap quilts! What a beautiful finish - and that back is perfect! It will be a perfect cuddle quilt for the long gray Oregon winters.

What a beautiful quilt. I'd have a hard time letting go of it. What was the finished size? How big were the blocks? Love seeing how you use all your scraps.

Yes, keep that one! Or send it my direction, lol! Such a good example of how seemingly disconnected fabrics can play well together. It's beautiful!
