Oh Scrap! : Strings

As I wrote this post, I realized that today is the first day of December....YIKES!

Maybe I should start working on those holiday gifts :)

But no...my brain is just too tired so I have been playing with strings.  Nice mindless String Blocks.
I started out with these 10.5" yellow blocks.

I moved onto my orange scraps next.  I finished these four blocks and plan on making more.

But next I need to at least make a list of items to make.
We shall see how far I get after that!

Are you making gifts this year?

*********************************************

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

I'm feeling the same kind of surprise as you are about today being Dec 1! Have to get my ducks in a row! Your string blocks are so appealing - sometimes that's the perfect kind of sewing to be doing. Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

I am not ready for December! I think I'll go lock myself in my sewing room and come out January 1st!

No gift sewing for me this year. Good for you working on a supply of String blocks! Will there be a rainbow of blocks???

I like your string blocks. It's such a good way to use up strips. After making a couple of new Christmas quilts I need to take stock of what really needs to get done and try to refrain from starting new projects. Cheers.

I am so much better at making lists of things I want to make than I am at actually MAKING them! No, I don't do any homemade gifts anymore because the last Christmas I tried that, I nearly had a nervous breakdown. Instead my mantra is "Simplify! Simplify!" Keep telling myself that the Who's Down In Whoville were able to have Christmas without any of the decorations or elaborate roast beast feasts that I want to go crazy over, and we can have Christmas without the Martha Stewart Stress-Fest as well!
