A Lightning Quick Finish

Happy Valentine's Day!

On this day of love, I thought it was appropriate that I am sharing my third Covered in Love quilt finish.  So many quilters made and sent in these beautiful blocks.  With so many hands doing most of the work, the top goes together quickly!

For this layout, I chose this fun zigzag or lightning pattern.  The yellow and red were the perfect choice for the half square triangles because they really show off the pattern.

For the quilting, I stitched some swirls in in the dark areas and then used some white thread to stitch an elongated continuous eight in the light area.  If you can't see it in this photo, you might be able to see it on the backing.

I did have to piece the back of this one using three different fabrics.  I tried to keep them all in the purple family.  I also bound it in a purple to try and tie everything together.

So far for designs, we have this one...

And now this one.  I wonder what will be next!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

(BTW - Thanks to everyone who are sharing their ideas for how to use my dog fabrics - I am getting so much inspiration.  It will be hard to choose!)

I like all of those layouts but after seeing all of them together I find i like the middle one best.

What beautiful quilts! Your quilting just sets them off. I need to go read up on the Covered in Love program.

Each layout is just great! I really love this one especially. You did pick the perfect blocks to make that zigzag stand out! Happy Valentine's Day, Cyndy!

They are all lovely. It makes me happy when I see a charity quilt made with such attention to design asthetics. Some people seem to use charity quilts as an excuse to get rid of ugly fabric.

All three layouts are so good. The yellow in each of them really makes the design stand out.

All lovely and very striking layouts. Difficult to say which one I prefer but the last one is very dramatic. Well done!
