Oh Scrap! : More Scrap Blocks

Winterizing my gardens have taken most of my time this week, but I did get a few more scrappy blocks finished.  I am still working through my yellow scraps for my Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects.

I finished up my 14 yellow HRT blocks.  These measure 4 x  8".  I did decide to make all the blocks go the same direction so no diamond shapes on this quilt..

I added the yellow blocks to my design wall.

I am running out of room!  I need to move some of them around so I can add in new colors in 2021.

I also used some bonus triangles left over from my flying geese in the blocks I completed last week to make these cute little pinwheel blocks.  Not sure what I will do with them, but I realized they were the same width as my HRTs and could work as a fun border around that quilt.  We will have to see next year as the quilt gets finished.

Today I will be spending the day filling out my ballot so I can deliver it to a drop box on Monday.

Please vote early and make sure your ballot is counted!
I will be following up online to watch my ballot proceed through the process - check with your state to see if you can check the status on your vote too.

Lots of scrappy goodness on that design wall!

I'm waiting to go to the polls to vote.

I love your full wall! I think you'll have to assemble some or those blocks to create more room! My mail in ballot was sent and received! Thanks for reminding people to check to make sure their ballots were received. it's SO important!

I voted! Took it to the drop box last Monday. But I have never gotten around to making the "Vote" mini. It's timeless, though, right?! Love the yellow HRTs mixed in with the other colors on your wall.

I voted by mail already.
I absolutely love the HRTs in the color palate on the wall. Would you consider finishing these blocks in these colors as one quilt, and then all the blues, greens, etc. as a second quilt?

I always enjoy seeing your design walls, Cynthia. Yellows stand out. Didn't someone once say every quilt should have a little yellow in it.

Your HRTs are gorgeous and a fun addition to your design wall. Going to be a great quilt!

Always fun to see what interesting block you come up with. I'm going to vote in person on Election Day because NY proved during the primary that they are not ready to handle massive amounts of mail-in votes. They can't start counting mail-in ballots until after the polls close, so it will be weeks before some districts, especially in NYC and the other large cities have any vote totals. Anyone who thinks this election will be over on Nov. 3rd is fooling themselves.

I do like your HRTs. I need to look to see if I have a ruler to make those blocks. I think I have one from the 90's! I voted on 9/30! And, we actually voted in person at our county's early voting set up. Lucky for us it is about 10 minutes away so very easy all around! I recently checked to see if I showed as voted. Wopee! It showed up that way. I believe this is the first time Virginia has allowed early voting. During the primary they allowed mail in voting whether you were available to vote on election day or not. I know we go our ballot in the mail but returned it in person. It always feels good to vote.

Love the rectangle HRTs. Is there a math trick to create those?

Love how you are using your scraps. They'll look great when they go into a quilt.
Happy Quilting! :-)

Happy to have the reminder about HRT because I've been wanting to try them in a project. Looks like you have several fun things on the wall. I've spent the whole summer doing work outside in the yard and just being outside. Finished up the winter prep last week and am looking forward to getting back into my studio soon to pick up where I left off . . . or start numerous new things instead. We'll see what happens.

Love the latest 'vote' block! I voted and drove my ballot to the county clerk's office hand delivered and gave them some cookies. Last night was our first frost...which means quilting season! Yay!!!
