Here it is, my last quilt finish for 2015!
This quilt was made using some Bollywood Bliss panels given to me from a friend. She also included some of her leftover fabrics in pretty jewel tones so I just decided to put them all together into a quilt.
Once I fussy cut out the panel squares, I framed each of them with a thin strip of fabric. I then framed them a second time in a different fabric - but this time I offset the center by framing them in two different widths of fabric.
I actually did this for a reason. Some of the center panels had to be cut to differing sizes so by offsetting each block, it hopefully hides the imperfections that might have been seen had I lined everything up.
I still have some of the leftover panels which I have been turning into a few more pinchsions.
They have been fun to needle turn applique on the cold, rainy evenings we have been having.
I had made finishing this quilt my December goal for A Lovely Year of Finishes with Sew BitterSweet Designs. I have been participating in this event for about two years and am sad to see it ending. It has been a great way for me to keep focused on finishing those UFOs that get set aside for one reason or another.

It's a lovely quilt. You've given me an idea for a baby quilt, especially the offset borders. Thank you. Have a good new year and a fruitful and creative 2016.
I like to work with panels but it seems like they are never quite square. Your solution definitely resolves that situation.
I love that fabric, and it made a stunning quilt. And I love the offset - it looks awesome!
Congrats on your last finish of 2015! This year went so fast! I love the colors in this quilt. Your solution for those panels is very smart indeed! Happy New Year!!
I love the jewel tones of this quilt! They are good colors for winter, since all we can see right now is white! The leftover panels are perfect for pincushions, too. i always love what you do with fabric that people give you!

Beautiful! And I love the pin cushion, too. I'll miss A Lovely Year of Finishes, too. It was what spurred me to complete several projects each year. Now I just have to rely on myself - oh, no!
This is such a gorgeous finish, Cynthia! I remember you showing off those panels and the first beginnings of the blocks. Offsetting the blocks was a very clever idea! Looking forward to seeing what you create in the coming new year and wishing you a very Happy 2016!
Wow! you did it again Cyndy, love what you have accomplished with this panel. ER
I love this quilt. The panels are so pretty. Gotta say, using the extras for those sweet pincushions is genius! Love!
