Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars

Well, it looks like I finally drank the kool-aid and made me a few Twinkle Star Blocks.

Angela over at So Scrappy posted her instructions for making them.   They are the January block in her RSC16 Column Along Sampler.  I have not made any in the past because they looked far too fussy.  But when I read through the instructions, they looked really easy.
I just had to give them a try!

Before I knew it, I had 9 blocks finished.  They run from the palest of blue up through almost black.

Ooops...I think this might mean I started another quilt.

What a great block. We're only 5 days into 2016, and I keep finding new projects I want to try...sigh......

Gorgeous! I love how much fun you had with the center squares! Little did you know how trappy they are...
They really are a fun block to do. I'm still thinking about joining the column quilt along, especially because of this first block, even though I'm already getting a twinkle-fix from the quilt I'm currently working on.

I like them! Really a lot! A few blocks doesn't mean you have to do the whole quilt. No pressure......

Oooh, ooh, ooh, I love the shade progression -- kinda in my own wheelhouse lately -- I think you should proceed next month in the same fashion. Mind if I copy along? I have cut strips but haven't started my blocks yet ...

Very pretty stars. I am still resisting temptation to make them. I really don't need another project. Have fun with them.

Your blocks are gorgeous! I only have 2 done but am excited to make more. Now I am more confident about the variety of light, medium, and dark that will make these blocks look the best.

Your twinkles with the colorful central piece was my inspiration. So I tore up my blue block and put in a new, more interesting center. So happy with it now. Thanks.

Some blocks are like that, aren't they? They just take over! I especially like the one that looks black.
