Eye Candy Inspiration

Not too long ago, Maureen over at Mystic Quilter shared that she had purchased Kaffe Fassett's newest book Quilts in Ireland.

Yes, I ended up following suit and picking up a copy for myself.  I have most of his other books and I do really enjoy looking at all of the beautiful quilts and photography.

This is the quilt that Maureen shared and I was totally intrigued by it.  I really loved the use of stripes.

But I have to admit that this one captured my heart.  I am not a big fan of making a bunch of HSTs but I think this quilt will be worth it.  I am already starting to set aside fabrics as I come across them!

The book is on sale right now at Connecting Threads (along with many others) if you want to pick up your own copy.  There are some other quilts that I enjoyed too.  Now I just need to find the time!

I like the optical illusion that HST quilt makes.

Oh my, the stripes in that first one make me a bit queasy. But I love the project you've selected and look forward to your rendition.

I just adore Kaffe Fassett fabrics -
You must check out this link that has a quilt utilizing those fabrics. I've pinned it - it is so gorgeous!

That HST quilt is stunning! Like sparkling jewels.

I trust you know the eight-at-a-time method of making HSTs. This will whip up pretty quick I think. Have fun making it!

Those are both fascinating quilts! I love how the HST one looks three dimensional. We made it to McMinnville today! Lots of traffic from Portland to here, but we made it! :)

Those dreaded HSTs sound like the perfect project for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!

I love the photography in Kaffe's books. I was trying to resist that one, but I may have to break down and get it for the collection.

I too really liked the quilt you're taken with so I got the book myself (from the local library). Had a flip through and hated the instructions for that quilt. I'm wondering do you follow instructions in books or will you work out the how-to yourself?
