It is finally here! The big biannual event we all look forward to. So many blogs to check out, giveaways to enter, and projects to be inspired by. Yep, it is Giveaway Day hosted by Sew Mama Sew.
If this is your first visit here, welcome. If you are already a reader, I have some news to share! Many of you have expressed you enjoy seeing what I do with scraps. So for 2014, I will be sharing all sorts of tips for scrap storage, quilt inspiration, tutorials for scrap quilts and hopefully a Scrap-A-Long or two. Whew...Now that it is in writing, I'm committed! We will be starting slow but if the support is there, I'm ready to help you work through your scrap bins and make some beautiful projects.
Here are a few examples of some recent quilts to come out of my scrap bin. But with so many of you following along, I will be pushing myself to step it up a notch and get even more creative.
But that's not why many of you are stopping by. I know, just get to the giveaway! I decided to share some frosty blues and purples with a lucky reader. Lots of fun designers in this pick. There are five fat quarters and a regular quarter cut (Kate Spain) in this fun fabric bundle.

I love the beginning of each season. When we change decorations and pull out the seasonally appropriate foods it is so exciting. Then the end of each season drags until the fun starts over again.

Spring - it's such relief after the long dark nights. Suns down from before 4pm to after 8 am at this time of year here - a nice cold snowy winter makes it more bearable, but mostly we just get cold and grey!

I love Spring...the weather is getting warmer, the heavy winter clothes coming off, the new green leaves unfurling, driving with the windows down and singing to the radio at the top of your lungs (although I don't think I can get away with that any more at my age unless I drive with my grandson in the car!) When I lived up north it was definitely fall. Now that I live in central texas it's spring.
I love Winter the most! I'm in CA, so I don't experience miserable winters. I like the cool, crisp air, rain, and the occasional frosty/snowy layer we get on our deck about once a year. I love winter for the crackling fire, hot cocoa, cuddling on the couch with a comfy quilt, and the holidays! There is so much to love. :)

Winter used to be my absolute favorite as a kid but now that I am an adult winter is hard work - shoveling and scraping and sanding and keeping the house warm! Fall is probably my favorite now, then spring, winter, then summer.
Up north i loved the fall... here in texas the spring is incredible with the smell of earth, wildflowers everywhere.... its perfect.

In Oklahoma we pretty much skip spring and fall.. summer get so hot and humid... and winter gets so cold and like today 6 inches of snow...I like spring... but I want the old kind of spring..

I love winter!! Hey , but I live in the Caribbean in Puerto Rico where you can use shorts all year thru. Winter is less hot and not as rainy as the rest of the year.

Hmmm, depends on what country I'm in. I currently live in Ireland where summer lasts for a week and winter is mostly rain, so I'd have to say spring and autumn. Winters and summers are better in the UK, and I love a proper snowy winter in Germany. My overall answer though is spring because I find it so liberating.
I used to say winter as I love the cold and snow but its hard to bike in all that so I might pick summer now. If only it weren't hot then...

I love the idea of the scrappy quilt tips, techniques, and tutorials in 2014. I love Spring and Fall best, jacket weather actually. Like the sun shiny days of summer, but the heat gets to me. Winter is great as far as quilting, and doing yarn projects, since it is not too hot. However, I miss having the longer days of sun. I love reading your blog ....most of all.
Have a wonderful Christmas....btw, I still have 14 projects to complete for Christmas....all sewing and crochet or knit. Do you think I'll make it? Was not worried until recently, my shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, and hand on my right side, dominant side is giving me fits. So much so, I've had to rest every couple of days.....ugh! I'm hoping I can persevere until I get the gifts completed.
