To be truthful, I never thought this top would get finished. It was definitely a test of my patience and I'm a bit surprised I stuck with it. It was made using the Ballerina pattern made by Jaybird Quilts. If you follow the pattern, the pieces go together beautifully. Unfortunately, I miscut a number of my blocks so the entire quilt had to be reworked so the blocks would fit together.
Not all the points come together as well as I like them to be but once it gets quilted and laundered, it will be less noticeable. Right?
I really like the fabrics in this quilt top. I mainly used Jason Yenter's Winter Solstice fabrics and back filled with some fabrics from my stash.
This will be a Christmas gift so now I need to get it on my quilting schedule. Any fun ideas on quilting?
Previously this year, I had quilted a quilt from the same pattern for a friend. I like the texture of the straight line quilting in a few of the swirls. The quilt above is far busier and I am not sure the quilting will show much.
Too many decisions! Thankfully I have a few months to figure it out.

Actually, I can see the straight line quilting (despite the busy-ness of the fabrics). I so love that pattern and the fabric choices really are great! Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be wonderful! Hugs, Doreen
I can't see anything wrong with your quilt! It looks really good! I love the straight lines quilted into the swirls. It adds dimension to the quilt.

I can only see the corners when I look at the big picture. They will not be noticeable at all once it is all finished. Great work!
Hi! Your quilt is beautiful! Fun to see the same pattern in different colours! I made mine also inspired Julie's 'old' tutorial for hexagons but didn't use her new pattern. Perhaps I should have, because I had also difficulties with matching the points etc. I have now quilted the hexagons around by hand and plan to quilt smaller hexagons inside on them. x Teje
Oh my goodness that reminds me of a UFO of the same design which I'm hand stitching tucked away in my boxes of UFO's somewhere??????? Yours looks lovely may be I should do some more on mine??????? If I can find it easy enough LOL I will show it next week?????? Cheers Glenda

Your quilt looks really nice! I love the burgaundy material.
It may have been a challenge but it looks great! I know cutting pieces the wrong size can really put a damper on things.

I think it looks great! Have you heard the galloping horse saying...If you can't see the mistake while galloping past it on a horse, then it's fine:) Love the close up on the earlier one of the same pattern. You do great longarm work!
