Last month, I decided to start working on my Park Bench Quilt (Jaybird Quilts). I had purchased the kit from Craftsy and I made the goal to sew one or two blocks a month. I thought I would share my progress.
The pattern contains the templates to make the quilt but cutting is so much easier if you use Jaybird Quilts' Sidekick and Hex and More rulers. I was lucky that a good friend had both and loaned them to me to make this quilt.
I started by cutting up the fabrics for the first block. It is the Picnic block and you end up making two.
A very pretty green one. (Sorry, this lavender wall is not the best background.)
And a happy one all framed in yellow.
I love these blocks so much, I wanted to display them someplace so I could enjoy them. I decided to make some garland with them and hang them around my sewing room.
So tonight I pulled the fabric from my kit to get started on the next block. More greens and grays to be made into two Ball Game blocks. Not sure when I will get to them but you can bet I will be showing them off once I get them finished!

I'm sure this is a lot easier with a kit! In the class I did it in, she wanted us to use each block as a color study. Drove me nuts, cause I don't like quilts that have every color in it with very little tying it all together. I wanted it tied together by the coral. Gave up after three blocks. You can see the top on my blog,

Still considering the quilting.
I love the way your blocks look hanging up like that. Super cute! It would make me want to keep working on it.
Is the piecing difficult? I love the pattern. Keep sharing!
Your blocks are so soft and pretty! This is going to be a great quilt!
Love these blocks!
What fun to hang the blocks around your studio!
