My sewing group recently got together and we made some cute boxy pouches using this tutorial by kelbysews. For those curious, we made all of our pouches with fusible fleece, nylon zippers and home decorator fabrics.
I made mine from some Kaffe Fassett home dec fabric I have been holding on to for quite some time.
Some cute polka dots for the lining thanks to some fabric sent to me by Little Penguin Quilts.
Someone in the group was very inventive and lined theirs with some clear plastic.
And she used the cut off bit from her extra long zipper as the side tabs. So brilliant!
Our group was able to sew up 12 pouches which will be sold at a fundraiser for a local charity who aids kids in crisis. For many, this was the first time sewing in a zipper!
I hope to make a few more to have handy for around the holidays. These will make great gifts!

What a wonderful pile of pouches! I hope it raises lots (and lots!) of money for your cause.
Great idea for a fund raiser. Everyone needs pouches
What a fantastic fundraiser project! You guys did a great job.
Adorable. I love making pouches. I just bought some iron on vinyl which I'm eager to try.
Must make one...or three! Went to your link and um I've already bookmarked it! Love seeing your pile and the creative ways people have made it their own. I've lined little pouches with vinyl before with great success. Iron on vinyl Nancy (PugMom) says?? Must check THAT out.
What great little pouches. Thanks for the link to the tutorial!
Great idea! You guys should do well with the fundraiser!
I love all of your boxy pouches! What a great idea for a fundraiser! I'm so glad you had some polka dot fabric to include!
Those are brilliant! I keep seeing these pouches around and about and thinking I must make some. Perhaps when I'm more settled somewhere...
Great fundraising idea. Hope it goes well.
There's something for everyone in that stack - You will be sold out in no time!
