I just thought I would pop in and share the progress I have made on my Splendid Sampler quilt blocks.
As of today, blocks one through seven have been released. And so far, I have been keeping up (which is amazing considering all the other quilt alongs I seem to be doing right now.) A few of these blocks, I would love to go back and make an entire quilt from them!
I did make the decision to make alternate blocks for any block designs with a lot of background fabric. With the vibrant Kaffe Fassett fabrics I am using, I am afraid all that background will stand out too much in my quilt.
Block 7 was an adorable embroidered block but I am replacing it with a bonus block that came out in the beginning of the QAL. I might need to come up with some additional designs depending on the number of blocks I choose to kick out. I really hope there are not too many!
Now I am off to sew up my sampler blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. We are making purple butterflies this month!

I love your Splendid Sampler blocks! I have started the embroidered Block 7, but wish I had seen your idea first. I don't mind the embroidery, it's just hard to find time to squeeze more hand-work in!
I like this block - like a stretched out star
Looks like really good progress. I like the last block too.
Your blocks look great, and such pretty colors. I can see why the embroidered one wouldn't fit in with your others. I like the alternate block instead!
Im keeping up too, just! Your blocks look great!
This is coming along and is going to be gorgeous when it's finished. The colors of Kaffe are amazing !
I love the mix of fabric in your splendid sampler. It will be splendid,, indeed!
