A year ago, I linked my cute little snail bank up with Val's Quilting Studio for the Piggy Bank Challenge. I am not a big consumer and I rarely pay with cash but I thought it would be fun to see how much change I could save up in a year.
Every time I received coins, I put them in my bank.
I realize now that the choice of a snail bank was perfect!
I emptied out Mister Snail today and see that I saved a whole $13.99! And I think the $5 bill was donated by a friend who used my fabric cutter so my savings was really $8.99.
So I stuffed it all back in the bank and I will let it ride for
another year.
Maybe by then I will have enough saved up to buy TWO charm packs! :)

I really need to get out of the house more....

I don't tend to pay with cash much, either, so I haven't participated because I knew I would hardly have any savings! So kudos to you for doing this at all. :)
Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to open and count mine today
I need to count mine tomorrow. I've let mine ride for two years, so I'm curious to see how much I've collected.
If you never spend change while out shopping, your amount will add up quicker at home.
OMG! That is so funny! First, that bank...it has Oregon written all over it! With debit cards the new 'cash', its hard to come by coins anymore!
I used to end up with a lot of change when my kids were little because I always shopped for small goodies for them. I would then save my dimes which I then took to the bank and changed to paper money and used that to buy more of those goodies. Now I don't shop as much, but I still save my dimes. Once they add up to enough, I use it to buy whatever sewing related items I may need or want.
LOL! I feel the same way...my hubby even commented that I never go anywhere to collect change as he even does the grocery shopping. LOL!! Not being a big consumer myself, I looking forward to my fancy pin magnet and maybe a little fabric splurge. :) :) But like ya said, it all adds up sooner or later and we get to treat ourselves to something special. :) :)
That's such a cute piggy bank!
Your snail bank is adorable!
Cute piggy, ugh snail, bank.
haha! That's about what I'd have as I spend coin as if it's real money!
LeeAnna at not afraid of color
I found myself using less and less cash this year, but I'm going to try and reverse that next year. But they say every penny saved is a penny earned, so even if it isn't a lot, it was still earned!!!
