Gotta love those quick finishes!
April is the month for us to use up some of our multi-colored scraps. As I am making string blocks to try and burn through many of my older scraps this year, I thought I would grab a bag of novelty scraps a friend had given me and make a quick baby quilt.
While most of the prints are from the Knuffle Bunny collection manufactured by Could 9 fabrics, I did need to add a few coordinating scraps so I had enough to make an entire quilt. The string blocks are 10" and the quilt finishes up at about 40" square.
I was able to keep aside a few larger pieces for a backing.
I used up every bit of the fabric that was gifted to me to make the quilt!

The fabrics are super adorable so I really enjoyed sewing this one up.
Another small bag of scraps is now emptied and I have a sweet little scrappy quilt instead. I am sure it will probably end up in either donated to a charity or in my Etsy shop so if you need a cute little quilt contact me!

You are a wizard with a bag of scraps, Cyndy! That is so much fun! I can see why those fabrics were fun to sew with - I love all the little hearts you can see throughout. Great finish!
Fast finishes are so gratifying. I always enjoy seeing what you create.
Loving these string blocks. I hope to have enough scrap someday to do a string scrap quilt.
Hey, that is cute with those scraps :) Love the pop of red in the strings. I could sorely use a fast finish right now :D
Great scrappy quilt Cynthia, love the red strings you've added.
Snap, I've just been finishing off a string quilt too! I love these blocks, so scrappy and quite quick to make! Your backing is great too!
Sometimes it's just so satisfying to empty out a scrap bag and make a quick small quilt. That fabric is mighty cute, the one with the bunnies.
It never occurred to me to use novelty fabric in a string quilt. That's a great idea! Yours turned out super cute, and isn't a great feeling when you use all the matching fabrics up?
Now this was a smart idea! I should do that with some novelty fabrics that I have...they don't seem to go with anything...just random pieces. Maybe slice them thin so they don't look so novelty. I don't know. They will probably languish in the farthest corner for a while longer. lol They seem it like it back there.
You are so quick with these blocks and quilts! I'm amazed you aren't out of scraps yet!
What fun fabrics. You cut them small enough to make it pretty. I see some bunnies in there for Easter. Have a great weekend.
Very pretty quilt.
So fun!!
I love the Knuffle Bunny fabric. I read that book (and the second one) to my Children's Lit class nearly every semester, but I didn't know there was FABRIC! :)
Strings quilts are one of my favorites! Love those fabrics. Good job!
Wow, good job! What a delightful little quilt - out of scraps! Talk about a win-win!
Your Sewcial blocks are lovely. String blocks are so pretty especially with such wonderful scraps and fabrics!
Totally love that idea! I'm making a baby quilt now with scraps, too, but I just love your strings and colors!
Great little quilt, and finished so quickly.
What a sweet quilt, one to be loved. Much better than sitting in a scrap bag. Happy Easter!
What a great scrappy quilt! I especially like your pieced backing, looks terrific.
It gets a big tick from me. Doesn't it feel great to empty a bag out completely. That's an Easter bonus for you. Happy Easter, Clare
Great string blocks.
