Lately, I feel like I have zero focus or direction in my sewing. I have lots of quilts in the works but I just can't seem to make a lot of progress on any specific project.
But there is one quilt top that has been finally moved to the "ready to be quilted" pile. And that is my colorwash scrap vortex quilt. Woo Hoo!
What was the secret on this one? It was my leader/ender project as I was working on all those other things. So it just quietly continued to grow and evolve as I wasn't paying attention.
Lots of tiny blue and purple scraps went into this one. It is hard to believe that almost all of the fabrics are scraps from previous quilts.
I think it measures about 50 x 60". I will have to see what I have for a backing because I am sure I have a couple choices for this one. I am hoping to dig around and uncover an oldie that I can finally find a home for.
Now, back to my "real" projects!

The little pops of white in the prints add a lot of sparkle.
It's beautiful!! What a great lap quilt!
Very nice! And timely, too, since I've just been googling tutorials on scrap vortex quilts!!!
This is such a fabulous quilt...I love it!
I am working on finishing my scrap vortex project,
and it's a hot mess of scraps.
Such a great idea to work with a limited colour palette!
This is beautiful! Good luck finding a groove and moving forward on your other work.
Gorgeous! Looks like a 'real project' to me , even if it was a little stealthy in the getting it done department.
I love the colorwash effect you created! The way you limited the color pallette, but gave the quilt such movement, is so much fun to see, Cyndy! I always figure that every little bit counts, so whatever you get done is a step in the right direction!
it grew to be a beautiful quilt top!
That is beautiful!! I've loved this one from the beginning, but it really turned out stunning!
This is a really beautiful scrap vortex - you've done a great job transitioning the colors. Well done!
Fantastic! Love the colours in this quilt! Did you use a slab technique to make blocks or a different approach?
It is beautiful, you must have had a lot of blue and purple scraps. It's very clever to limit your colours so but it paid off. I'm off to sort and cut my scraps now.
This one just leapt off the screen at me - I absolutely LOVE it!!
A wonderful finish! I love your controlled palette, and blue of course is always a favourite of mine!
Love everything about this quilt!
This is GORGEOUS!!! Please show it again after it is quilted.
Happy weekend!
Oh goodness, what a beauty - love it!
That's the beauty of scrap projects! They just almost make themselves.:) This one is gorgeous!
Blue and purple - my 2 favourite colours - loving your quilt top :)
Wow, you did a great job with like. I like how you blended your colors.
What a lovely quilt. You should celebrate big on this one.
A great finish with loads of tiny pieces!! Lately I have been feeling the same way, lots of projects in the works but not enough finishes. Sooo this week started quilting a bunch of table runners(for fall craft shows). Now I have things to bind and applique on for some real finishes!
Love two things in particular about this quilt...the usage of little pieces which is always great and the lovely colourwash effect you've achieved with the colour placement. Overall, so pretty!
Its unbelievable what can be had with leaders /enders pieces! I love the flow from the blue to purple! It's just gorgeous! It seems to me this time of year (Spring has Sprung!), our focus shifts a little bit. It's time to clean up after winter and it isn't any small task!
LOVE your quilt!
I totally love this quilt top. I enjoy the process of piecing scrap vortex quilts.
What a well organized scrapiness! Great job!
Wow!!! This is a gorgeous scrap quilt! Way to go!
