Improv Stripes QAL

Happy September!
That means summer is almost over and fall is just around the corner.  That makes me happy!

Here is my finish today.  It is my #improvstripes I made following Debbie's (A Quilter's Table) quilt along.  It measures just over 50 x 65".  I really like how it turned out!

I restricted myself to bright blues, red and a bit of bright yellow.  Love those primary colors.  I paired those with black, whites and a few bits of gray.

On the back, I used an older striped stash find with a black print added on to make it big enough.

For the quilting, I used a black thread and quilted squares/lines all going in different directions.
Improv geometric quilting!

A big thanks to Debbie for hosting.  It was sure a lot of fun!

Happy Friday!

  6. I love how your Improv Stripes turned out! The bright reds and blues combined with black, white, and yellow are so happy and fun. I really like that you were able to make it such a nice size, too - that makes it useful as well as beautiful!

  15. Love this! It's colors work well together and the neutrals provide a little relief from the riot of blues and reds. Who'd have thought that black doesn't take away from the happy vibes? Great finish!
