For a couple of years now, I have had a little quilt idea in my head. I buy or get gifted bits of fabric and they might look like they are languishing in my stash but the truth is I am constantly thinking about ways to use them.
So once I start cutting a project, the process goes pretty quickly....
First I started fussy cutting out some fruits and vegetables from a fun old Alexander Henry fabric I had in my stash. This is one I have been hoarding for a really long time.
My outdoor gardens are all organized in raised beds so I thought my fabric gardens needed to be too.
Then it was time to get them all laid out in a background fabric.
I made two long strips that were about 10" x 48".
I made two long strips that were about 10" x 48".
Then it was time to bring in the bunnies.
A friend had given me these leftover strips and I have been thinking about how to use them. My inspiration came when I was talking to my sister about her gardens and her bunny problem.
From that conversation, the idea for this quilt was born!
It still needs to be quilted but the flimsy is all finished.
It is always fun to have an idea form in your head and then see it executed.
Now onto the next crazy idea!

Oh, how fun! We have a raised bed garden and a bunny problem, too - I love that you turned those into a quilt!
What a very fun quilt. Bunnies can do a number on a garden, as can baby quail who ate all our carrot shoots a few years ago (who knew?)!
Too cute! Love those bunnies
What a fun quilt! Makes me smile!
OMG what a great idea you creative soul you! Loved the raised beds idea:)
Too cute--I love it!
Creative quilt! We have a couple of bunnies but so far they only seem to be eating the grass. If I could just entice them to eat some of the weeds ...
Love that bunny and carrot fabric! Reminds me of the lovely kids picture book "Ben's Bunny Trouble" (illustrated by a friend, but genuinely good on its own merits).
You always have the best fabric! And fun ideas. It certainly works!
It is a grea idea !
A great use of that fabric...love it!
Oh, wow! That's cool. Very clever use of those fabrics!
Love the "raised beds"! And who can resist such great fabrics? They tell a story, for sure :)

Love it and love how your creative mind thinks. Such a cute fun quilt
A very innovative and fun quilt.
I'm so glad you got to get that idea out of your head! This is adorable. I love the little veggie and fruit blocks, but the center panel makes it for me! Well done!
How long will those veggies last on that quilt? You may have to cage them in. So sweet!
I never tire of your thought processes! This is really clever, and the fabrics are straight-up fun!
This is so fun!!!! I love how sometimes the right bits just all work themselves into the perfect project!
What a terrific quilt! I love how you show from bits and pieces of fabric to the finished top. Excellent.
This quilt made me laugh. Adorable!
