Something New

Having finished my big Bowtie Quilt, I am "rewarding" myself with a new project!

Later this fall, I will be participating in another shortcut quilt hosted by the Fat Quarter Shop.  All of the parts have arrived and I am ready to start sewing.  This pattern uses the Creative Grid Perfect Rectangular Ruler.  I have a feeling this will be a ruler I use many times in the future.

This will be the first time I have used a Jolly Bar precut size and I have to admit, I am smitten already!  Jolly Bars measure 5 x 10 and are available exclusively at the Fat Quarter Shop.  I went with the Hop, Skip and a Jump collection by American Jane.  I can't wait to get cutting!

Sadly, even if I finish early, you will have to wait until the reveal date to see my quilt.
So stay tuned!!

  1. I hadn't purchased any jolly bars yet but they are on my "want" list. I tried to hold out not starting a new project for awhile now but dropped off the wagon last night with a new scrappy project

  5. Looks like a fun set of fabrics to play with. I won a jolly bar last year and haven't figured out what to do with it, so I'm curious to see what you make from yours.

  6. I'm excited to see how you like the rectangle ruler! I've never used jolly bars either, but for my needs the size seems perfect!

  9. Half rectangle triangles are so fun, especially with a good ruler! I hadn't heard of that one, so I'm curious to see how you like it. I have the TriRecs one.

  10. I have a Jolly Bar I almost cut up into 5 inch squares. Can't wait to see what FQS has come up with for the pattern you're using!
