A Dog Quilt Finish

I finished up my donation dog quilt this week.  I am quite pleased with how it turned out.
I decided to go with a HST  design and used almost all of the fabric.

The final measurements are 48" x 60".

I love the subtle color change between the two light fabrics.

I was able to use the last of the fabric on the backing.  I used a striped fabric I just bought and adding the inset meant I only had to use one length of the fabric.

It is hard to see but I sewed a piece of the fabric selvage onto this framed block. it says
"You Had Me  At Woof"

My sister volunteers at an animal shelter and they are having a big fundraiser soon.  I thought I would send this off to them.

I had a hard time photographing this one.  The top photos are in the shade and this one is in the sunlight.  I am just not going to get the true colors of this one so I hope you get an idea of how it turned out.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I hope that it really helps the fundraiser. Some quilts are really difficult to photograph but I can see this is a great use of fun prints.

That was a good choice to feature the dog fabrics, and the way you made the backing was a great idea! It's going to be fought over at the auction!

I love how the "rings" of neutrals are different shades. Really adds movement! :)

Thanks goodness it's for a fundraiser! I thought it was for a dog, and was thinking what an awful pity such a sweet quilt would be a dog bed. I was also plagued with a little guilt that I had made nothing for my grand dogs. Now I can relax.

You got me at woof too! It is really cute fabric. I've just about finished a challenge quilt I made using a bag of fabrics I was given. I like how you used your doggy fabric.
