There was a giant box of goodness that landed on my doorstep this afternoon...
Kat contacted me to see if I could help out again getting some Covered in Love blocks turned into some quilts. She remembered I got really bored making a bunch of the same quilts last time so in the box I found enough red, white and blue blocks to make three quilts.
I always love to see all the different star blocks in these quilts so I am excited about getting these put together and petting all the lovely blocks..
There was also a giant stack of a colorful block she calls FiddleSticks. She said there are enough blocks for two quilts. So muany scrappy bits in these!
I also received enough of these blocks to make a couple quilts. I think this block was from her last block drive.
Kat does such a great job getting together all the blocks, backings and even the bindings. It makes putting them together and quilting them a breeze!
I know many of you participate in these block drives so I will share the quilts as I finish them. Any preference for which ones you want to see first?
I also thought I would take this opportunity to remind everyone that the Hands2Help donation quilt drive will be coming up soon. I think signups are in March and I am already planning my quilts. Covered in Love will be one of the charities where you can donate this year. Or you can make some blocks for her current block drive.
I use colorful background fabrics all the time for my scrap quilts. Some of my favorites are available at Connecting Threads. I just saw they have a great sale on some of their Basics and Blenders. So many pretty colors are available!

I'd love to see Fiddlesticks put together! I've been on a crumb quilting binge lately, trying to use up my tiny pieces. Only they seem to multiply.
The yellow and black blocks are very interesting. I'm intrigued. Would love to see that one, please. I would also like to see what Jennifer Dyck is making. I love crumb quilts, lol. ;^)
I made some stars and some of the sunflower blocks. I wasn't familiar with the sunflower blocks at all - I bet they will make a great design! But, actually, each of those sets of blocks will!
I know I sent some stars but not any fiddlesticks. I did valiantly try the sunflower block, but the first one took so long and was very fiddly, so I only sent that one. I'm trying to redeem myself this time around with the string blocks. I can't wait to see how you work your magic.

I vote for the fiddle stix but they all look nice. I contributed to the last 2 drives. Looking forward to seeing the quilts.
This is such a huge gift of your time - taking all of these books and turning them into quilts - you are amazing. I am sure Kat gets overwhelmed with all of these block drives and it is awesome you are able to help her like this. Can't wait to see these come together!

Oh, how fun! Such a wonderful variety of scrappy blocks to work with. I know you'll do a great job with all of them, no matter what order you tackle them :)
All of the block groups are so pretty and interesting. They will make lovely quilts. Can’t wait to see them!

So very generous of you to assemble all these blocks!!!! That is my fushia fiddlesticks block on top. It's fun to see your blocks pop up on other's blogs as they are assembling them. I love making blocks for Kat! Always amazed at the results!
