Not Always Scrappy

Well, take a look!  I actually made a quilt from my stash fabric.

It is overcast and rainy today so photos are really difficult to take.  But here is a photo of the fabric pull so you can see the lovely colors.  I didn't have enough of any one mint colored fabric, so I used three different prints to meet the pattern requirements.

My kitchen is barely big enough for the quilt.

I love all those soft colors spattered with the floral and stripe prints.

I also tried the lighting in my studio.  It is still looking a bit washed out.

I used a dark blue sketch fabric on the back and quilted it with a light blue thread.  Big ruffly flowers give the quilt a wonderful texture.

It was a nice change to work with large pieces and follow a pattern.  This pattern is called Studio Chic by Artichoke Patterns.  I bought it over a decade ago and I am not sure if it is still in print.

Now I am ready to get to my scrap bins.  I do still have a few stash pieces I might try and make a quilt from but that will be another day.

Enjoy your weekend!

(Today is the last day of Connecting Threads big sale.  A few prints from this quilt came from there!)

That's a neat design! I love the stained glass effect. It does look like a great way to use some larger prints without cutting them into small pieces. The blue/green floral that looks like Queen Anne's Lace is my favorite!

That is a really pretty quilt. My mind would have never put some of those fabrics in there but they work! Your quilting is nice as well.

Beautiful quilt! I agree with you -- the colors work so perfectly with each other. The fact that it was a stash-busting quilt scores a double win!

The quilted ruffly flowers are such a fun motif and match the prints nicely. What a lovely quilt!

Stash quilt vs. scrap quilt... Is that even legal?! :P
