I was really getting bored with the Two Step quilts so I decided to just get them all sewn up and finished. I knew these quilts were all going to look very similar and was concerned how quickly I would lose interest. But I stuck to it until the end of the pile!
I think one person actually sent in most of the blocks for this quilt. When I can, I try and keep them together so the quilts look more like they were planned. Stephanie sent in the large autumn colored backing fabric. It wasn't quite large enough so I used a piece Nann sent in.
Stephanie sent in the two backing pieces for this one two. She has been downsizing her stash and we were lucky to get a whole lot of fall-colored fabric from her. It really helped out with this drive!
A big thanks to Penny for sewing on the binding. Penny is actually the President of the board of Many Hands and Many Hearts. I sure appreciate all her help!
Along with all the fabric Stephanie sent, she also included some lovely fall-themed panels. It was always nice when I could insert one of these in amongst the Two Step blocks to give a quilt a unique look. I think I used all the panels Stephanie sent.
And this one is the last Two Step quilt! You will notice it has the same backing as the one above. Stephanie sent in 7-8 yards of this gorgeous print. I think it was one of my favorites, so I saved it for the very end.
Are you curious about the stats on this block drive? Well, we received 1095 blocks in total. That count includes the blocks in the three Two Sep quilt tops we received. A total of 50 people sent in blocks and we were able to make a total of 24 quilts. We have a few blocks leftover so if I can find a local volunteer to make the rest of the blocks needed for another quilt, I will gladly give them lots of fall-colored scraps!
I also want to thank everyone who sent in prepared bindings during this block drive. My shelf was wonderfully stocked of autumnal colors.
The Jewel Box block drive is coming to an end. Janet and I have been working away at getting all those quilt tops sewn. So if you still have blocks to send in, please do so soon. I will be announcing the next block drive early next week. It is going to be a fun one!

What wonderful statistics. I'd say the Two-Step block drive was a total success. These last quilts are just as wonderful as the first quilts that you shared!
Thank you for all you do to complete these compassion quilts. I fins that most quilters are willing to donate their time to make blocks but it takes a special person to step up and finish the quilts. Thank you and happy stitching!
Congratulations on getting all of the Two Step quilts finished. I love getting the final statistics and always marvel at how much we can do when we work together. Thank you, as always, for all you do!
Yes, working in a series (which is pretty much what all the similar blocks become) can get boring. Good for you for getting these made up and finished! Now -- onto the jewel boxes!
P.S. The panel amid the two-steps is great!
That block drive was outrageously successful!
Yeah for using up most of the two step blocks! You ended up with some beautiful fall colors in those 24 quilts. Hope the next block drive goes just as smoothly.
What an incredible block drive, Cyndy! Congratulations on finishing up the final quilts. They are SEW gorgeous!!
You do such a good job of putting together a set of blocks for a quilt that look like they were made to go together. Wonderful results, and I look forward to making blocks for the next block drive.
