Some of these quilts have been hanging around a long time. It is nice to see them finally crossing the finish line and getting sent out to do good work!
This lovely scrap quilt started out as some friendship blocks sent in by Priscilla. I really wanted brown sashing so we waited a bit for some to finally show up. Local volunteer Chris sewed up the top for us. Then it went to board member Bev to be quilted. Karen sent us the backing fabric.
It took a bit to finish but it was well worth the wait!
This quilt from Kristin is a lot of fun. I love llamas! I am pretty sure she also sent in the backing fabric. I love the soft colors in this quilt and the chains that travel about. This one was quilted by local longarm quilter Terry.
Oh, what scrappy goodness! This quilt top was sent in by Denice. One of our fabric pickers (Deana) picked up the striped flannel for the back at an estate sale. Board member Bev quilted this one up. With all the seams on the front and the flannel on the back, this one is a hefty quilt.
Local quilter Chris made this top for us. The inspiration was the multi-colored owl print. She occasionally uses fabric from us, but I think one all came out of her stash.
This little all flannel cutie came from Kristin. I think she also sent in the backing. My neighbor Karol has wanted to volunteer in some way, so I taught her how to hand sew bindings. She is pretty busy with grandkids during the day, so this little bit of sewing helps her relax in the evenings.
She is, however, catching the quilting bug and wants to learn more.
