Thanks to the "thumbs up" from so many of you, I decided to just sew up my yellow and gray string blocks and call this little quilt done!
The yellows in the gray section are very bright and lemony. I had used yellows more in the gold family for all the other string blocks but thanks to your input, I got over their differences quickly.
I guess I didn't get a photo of the backing but I ended up using this sweet yellow print I bought last week. I might have been able to cobble together a backing from my stash but when I saw this print on sale, I knew it would be perfect!
It really is a happy little quilt and I love the touch of gray in the center. I am really going to enjoy a year of playing with string blocks as part of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge for 2017!
Thanks to this quilt and my little yellow and gray patchwork quilt, my yellow scrap bin is quite manageable. Now if I can just get all of my other bins like that!
