I decided to start something new!
I have been wanting to continue to use up more of my scraps with black backgrounds. They rarely get used in my RCS quilts so I decided to just make a quilt that featured them.
Many of these fabrics are old, old, old! I chopped up my strings into about 6" lengths. I tried to keep the width under 2.5".
I am now busy sewing them into strips that I am trimming down to 5.5" by 10.5". This quilt will be similar to my Licorice Allsorts quilt. But I haven't picked a background or a cornerstone design. I am leaning toward a different setting too - probably not on-point.
I will figure all that out once I get a nice big stack of these strips and get them up on my design wall.
Happy Sunday!

Great use and pretty scraps Cynthia! Licorice Allsort quilt is beautiful, so I am just waiting for another beauty.
I like those dark colors used together like that
You always seem to know exactly what to do with your scraps. Looking forward to seeing this one come together.
I love how the color pops out from the black background in those fabrics! Are you sewing the strips onto a foundation? I'll enjoy seeing what you do with them.

I like how your strings with black backgrounds are looking. I've been saving B&W strips and black-with-brights. Should be fun!
Oooooo. This will be a great quilt! The licorice one is super cool!
Your black strings look so nice, wonder how they will end up?
I love how these black based strips look sewn up into blocks - I have stacks of these older fabrics, must use them for something similar.
These are amazing "scraps", Cynthia. What I wouldn't give to have scraps like that!
Thanks for hosting the linkup. I've always wanted to use black as a background fabric. They always look so nice, one day.
