Dashing through the Snow!

We woke up to a bunch of snow this morning in Eugene. This was the view outside my studio window this morning (Yes, that is my 6 x 12 ruler...Use what is available, right?)  This fairly protected area was at 5" and it has since snowed all day!  We just don't get snow like this in western Oregon!

My little neighbors started giving me the stink eye pretty early in the day looking for food they could get to.  Not much will get me out in this stuff but I did get out to clear off and fill all the feeders.

It is on days like this that I am especially glad I work at home!  My commute is just down the hallway.

I did spend a little time sewing up the top to my Churn Dash quilt.  I was even able to find enough fabric to piece up a backing so now it is residing on the "Gotta Quilt" pile.

Maybe I can get to it next week.

Even though 1930's reproductions aren't my favorite fabrics, I have to say this top really turned out nice.  I am looking forward to getting it on the frame and quilted.

Unfortunately, this quilt top barely made a dent in the 30's fabric I inherited.  I also spent part of today cutting more fabric into strips for another project.  I'll be sharing some of those blocks with you soon.

Be sure and check back on the 9th.  I will be posting a fun little FQ bundle I will be putting up for grabs for Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway Day.  Hope to see you again for that!

I LOVE your churn dash quilt! I'm with you on the 30s fabrics, but on this quilt they look pretty awesome. :)

The quilt is beautiful! I think the 30s fabrics work well with an old fashioned pattern

Oh my I can't believe all the snow you received. I was running around in shorts since it was extremely unseasonably warm at 76 degrees. Temps are going to down beginning today so I am hip hip hooraying for the quilting weather. Hubby thinks I am crazy. Your quilt top is beautiful! It is definitely not your typical color palette but wonderful!

The pictures of the snow are gorgeous. I love the snow and just can't get enough. That's the perfect pattern for 30s fabric.

That snow looks SO much better in your backyard than mine, lol! We only have about 2 inches. The storms keep going around us. But I'm okay with that! I'm in denial about winter. Fun churn dash quilt!

Lovely quilt! Beautiful snow! I miss winters like that. In Ontario Canada our winters have been mild with very little snow.

Today is Sunday, and it is snowing here (Frederick, MD). Looks so pretty! So glad I don't have to go out in it, too. Love your churn dash quilt, and the fabrics are fabulous. I especially love how you interspersed the smaller four churn dash blocks to make the size of the larger ones. It makes the quilt so much more interesting. Hope you're having a great day.

Wow, we had white frost on our rooftops this morning but nothing like this! Love the Churndash Quilt, especially the couple blocks with four.
