Sew Kitschy Paper Piecing

Sew Kitschy Because I don't have enough planned for 2014 (ha!), I couldn't resist joining in on Quiet Play's Sew Kitschy paper pieced Block of the Month. I recently remodeled my 1947 kitchen and I thought this would make a great wall hanging to add some kitsch to the room.

I have already pulled some fabric from my stash for my first block.  I will be going with a soft turquoise and tangerine color combo.  My kitchen is all white, black and gray so I will be working those colors in also.

My last attempt at paper piecing was not a fun experience so I am hoping I will be more successful with this one!

Sew Kitschy Pattern Sketches

We are starting with the oven mitt and potholder block (thankfully) so I should be able to slowly ease myself into this.  While I may not share my fabric pulls each month, I will most definitely share each finished block with you.

Maybe by the end of the year when I finish this project, I will have the curtains sewn, the furniture painted and some area rugs!

If you want to find out more information or see any of Kristy's other great patterns, you can check out her blog or buy them directly in her Craftsy store.  Thanks Kristy for hosting!

Good luck with your paper piecing, gorgeous fabric choices. I joined in the And Sew On BOM last year and now have a great wall hanging in my sewing space, I giving this one a miss due to time pressure but will be watching from the sidelines!

Great colour choices! Look forward to seeing your blocks!

As for paper piecing... it can take a bit of time to get the hang of it, but once you do, there'll be no stopping you! ;)
