This was the case with this quilt. For my finish in July's A Lovely Year of Finishes, I won a pattern from Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs. When I saw her Peanut Butter Pinwheels pattern, I knew it would be perfect for the Happy Go Lucky layer cake I had on the shelf.
I paired the layer cake with some Kona Ash. When I went to quilt it, I knew I wanted to create a lot of texture with the quilting so I went with a stacked mum or ruffled flower. I love the casual feel to this quilt.
The pattern was well written and easy to follow and the quilt went together really quickly.
Thanks to both Cheryl and Sew Bittersweet Designs for helping me create this inviting quilt! I will be testing it out this afternoon!

I really like the Kona Ash with your colors. Did you free motion quilt it?
Thanks Jennifer. I did free motion quilt it. This pattern is easy. Anytime you quilt yourself in a corner, it is easy to echo quilt your way out.
That's my kind of pattern; looks good too.
Oooh.... aaaahhh. This is so lovely! I love Happy Go Lucky and Kona Ash, and that quilting is just beautiful!
Great finish! Love your quilting.
I'm loving the gray too! Nicely done!
Cute!! Enjoy testing it!
What an amazing finish. I need to try that quilting design sometime.
Oh, what a great use of your layer cake and Cheryl's pattern! The Kona Ash matches so nicely. Beautiful!
I adore this quilt. It took one layer cake? I think I want to do make this one. Charming and fun.
This is a great quilt, love it!
Terrific quilt and quilting.
Gorgeous fabric choices - it looks really lovely!
Gorgeous! Yes, it is nice to follow a pattern just once in a while. Great fabrics!
Lovely quilt! I'm sure you'll smile every time you use it!
Really fabulous and I love the quilting design on it.
This quilt is just the type of quilt I love as it is free flowing, non stuffy looking. You can use it anywhere as it would fit right in making just the right amount of statement. Nice job!
I love your fabric choices for this fun pattern. The quilting is the perfect finish.
I agree--it is sometimes nice to let others do all the thinking and figuring out of a pattern and just follow. It's a beautiful quilt--fabric choices and quilting design. Well Done!
I love your version of this quilt! I am a huge Bonnie and Camille fan and I love how you paired the Happy Go Lucky fabrics with the Kona Ash. Your quilting is the perfect compliment, just beautiful!
Thanks for sharing at Tuesday Arvchives!! I agree sometimes it's nice to just have a quick pattern to follow and your fabrics all put together!!
