February Goal - ALYOF

As I was pondering what project to make my February goal for  A Lovely Year of Finishes with Sew Bittersweet Designs, I found myself really wanting to play with some of the orphan blocks that are piling up in my sewing room.

I have quite a few of these 2" (Yikes!) hourglass blocks I made using some block trimmings from a previous quilt I made.  I have grouped them and pinned them with safety pins so I can sew them into some larger blocks as a leaders and enders project.  I love to have projects organized so when I get a chance to sew, I can be really productive!

I also have these nine 8" pinwheel blocks that I want to incorporate into the project.  Not sure yet how it will all come together but I hope to have a finished quilt by the end of the month!

A Lovely Year of Finishes

So how about it?  Are you ready to join me over at BitterSweet Designs and commit to what you hope to achieve this month?  I hope to see you there!

  7. Love the colors on the hour glass blocks. I don't think my head could wrap around doing a leaders and enders project. I usually use a selection of 5 ratty pieces of scrap and I pull out the threads when it becomes unruly! The pinwheels are great, no repeat fabrics int he colors but they blend beautifully!
