February Goal - ALYOF

As I was pondering what project to make my February goal for  A Lovely Year of Finishes with Sew Bittersweet Designs, I found myself really wanting to play with some of the orphan blocks that are piling up in my sewing room.

I have quite a few of these 2" (Yikes!) hourglass blocks I made using some block trimmings from a previous quilt I made.  I have grouped them and pinned them with safety pins so I can sew them into some larger blocks as a leaders and enders project.  I love to have projects organized so when I get a chance to sew, I can be really productive!

I also have these nine 8" pinwheel blocks that I want to incorporate into the project.  Not sure yet how it will all come together but I hope to have a finished quilt by the end of the month!

A Lovely Year of Finishes

So how about it?  Are you ready to join me over at BitterSweet Designs and commit to what you hope to achieve this month?  I hope to see you there!

It will be interesting to see how you combine these blocks, especially with the size difference between them.

Love the colors on the hour glass blocks. I don't think my head could wrap around doing a leaders and enders project. I usually use a selection of 5 ratty pieces of scrap and I pull out the threads when it becomes unruly! The pinwheels are great, no repeat fabrics int he colors but they blend beautifully!
