Orphan Adoption Update

I am just popping in to send a HUGE Thanks to all the generous angels who offered up items for adoption and those wonderful quilters who stepped up to adopt and finish those quilts so they can be used and loved!  Over a dozen quilts were linked up and it warms my heart to know they will no longer be languishing in a closet but now will be finished and many will be given to charities.

Here are those awesome bloggers who put items up for adoption -
Feel free to show them a little love!

The recipient of my "orphan" contacted me by email  and my project is off to the Portland area where it will be finished and given to a wonderful program that aides the homeless in finding permanent housing.  I am glad I did not have to choose a winner because there were so many deserving organizations and quilters wanting my project.  It was a tough decision so the names went in a hat.

I will be organizing another Orphan Adoption Event in the fall.  After that, I hope it becomes a biannual event, occurring in the spring and fall.  It is so easy for a project to become unloved and a guilty burden to a quilter - let's find them a new home where they will be given a new life!

I will keep all of you posted on the details.  Be sure you are following along so you don't miss out on the next event!

This is such a great idea. Because of all my own unfinished projects and just watched. Someday who knows.
