Starting tomorrow on Friday September 18th, there will be an opportunity right here on my blog for quilters to link up orphan blocks or abandoned projects that they would like to find a good home for. (You can find more details here.) I have been contacted by a few quilters who have items they would love to put up for adoption but have no way to link up. Like Tish and these beautiful Churn Dash blocks.
There are 17 blocks measuring 9 1/2" unfinished. They are of good quality fabric and they look beautifully made.
And Tish really wants them to find a new home!
She will ship these anywhere in the US.
If you would like to adopt this project, please let me know in the
comments that you are interested. These blocks are too pretty to hide in a drawer - we want them to go to someone who will get them sewn up into a quilt and loved. So no hiding them away in your own cupboard.
I will be randomly selecting someone from those that are interested on September 22nd
so make sure you notify me before that. And please make sure I can get a hold of

I could make the blocks into a charity quilt.....with all the people out in California displaced by the wildfires it is what I can do from here in NJ.
Charity quilt is what I had in mind also -- I'm a volunteer for the Wayne County Humane Society - I would make it up and donate it to one of their money raisers.
I too would be happy to have the blocks, as I sew regularly for Project Linus, and with all the fire destruction all around me (near Sacramento, CA) I know our chapter will be getting extra requests soon.

I am a sucker for orphan adoptions....whether it be lonely dishes at a yard sale, puppies and kitties at the pound, sad remnants in the corner, and quilts! It would be a beautiful quilt using these lovely churn dash blocks, and an act of love from Tish to warm a deserving family.

I would put them together for a charity quilt for the Women's shelter. Our quild makes a lot each year.
I would use these blocks to make two lap quilts for seniors in assisted care. They would be greatly loved.

My granny Ida's favorite block was the Churn Dash but she called it the gate Latch. She lived in the house with us and was always quilting so the love for quilting has stayed with me since I was little. I began my quilting career 36 years ago and have always included some form of charity quilt qiving in with everything I make. I would love to be the momma to your orphan blocks and make a quilt for a small child who needs to be kept warm this winter. Thank you for the chance.

I'm looking for a project that I could get finished for a fundraising event for my friend's son who just had his second liver transplant. The event is the end of Oct so this would be very doable for the silent auction item at the dinner event. Karen kthurn@bektel.com
