October Goal - A Lovely Year of Finishes

I'm not sure why it hasn't dawned on me before, but this morning I realized there is only a few more months left in this year and I still have a lot more I want to accomplish.

One of my goals for the year was to work my WIPs down to under 20. Right now I am at 23 so I need to be all about finishing things up!

I grabbed my second batch of RSC15 blocks and laid them out on my design wall. This time around, I just used red, orange, pink, yellow and brown for my blocks.  (The last one I made was a lot more colorful.)

To my surprise, I have just enough to make a quilt.  Time to sew these up into another quilt.

A Lovely Year of Finishes

To keep me focused, I thought I would make finishing this quilt my October goal for  A Lovely Year of Finishes with Sew BitterSweet Designs.  I didn't do so well last month so hopefully in October I am a bit more successful.

Now all I have to do is keep myself from starting something new!

You've made great strides on your goals! I wise friend of mine always declared that I/we should "aim high/big and cut-her in half"!!!!!! That always played well with my way of thinking as I always have unrealistically(?) high expectations of myself!!! LOL!!!!! Love the direction that one is going!!!!!

These are gorgeous, some of my favorite colors! I just can't help myself from starting new projects - ugh! Good luck with your goal!

It is nice seeing the same quilt in a more controlled color scheme. Good luck reaching your goals.

Very nice blocks, I like the scrappy yet controlled color palette.

I've been admiring those nine patches since the first time I found you. It's going to be a lovely quilt!
I think the only way not to start new projects is to shut off the computer, box up all the quilt books, and hide under the bed. Provided you don't have a fabric stash annex under the bed...

I had the same thought -- the summer went so fast and the holiday season always goes so fast, the challenge is to keep up. You look like you're well on your way with this one. It looks like on from Jackie Kunkel's new book about Black and white with brights. Should be a fun October finish!

That is a great quilt! I'll have to try that one some time. You are so close to getting the WIPs down to twenty - don't you dare start something new. (Oh well, if you HAVE to! lol)

I haven't set any quilty goals lately.....I don't know why?? LOL!! I haven't done ALYofF this year...maybe next year. I love your orange, red and yellow combined and paired with the greyish backing.

It really is so hard to not start somthing new - even though I have a list as long as my arm I was still thinking about a charm quilt yesterday. I really like the warm colours and think this works really well for a finish!
