Back in June, my friend Diann sent me the cutest little pincushion. It brings me so much joy every time I use it (which is practically daily) so I have been wanting to make some of my own to share with a few of my quilty friends.
First up was a little string pincushion made from Amanda Jean's Good Neighbors fabrics. Both Diann and I love Crazy Mom Quilts and scraps so I thought this was a perfect choice for a little return pincushion love. <3
Hidden on the back is a fun little message.
It was so sweet that she shared a photo of its home in her sewing room - right next to her machine!
I also made one for my Kaffe Fassett loving friend. I couldn't get too fancy with this one as his prints are all so large. But I did find a pretty floral I liked with some pretty green shot cotton.
Yep, she is a local friend who I talk to almost daily and is always there for me.
The next one I made was for my friend Barb. She is also a longarm quilter so thread is a big part of our world. When I saw the Fresh Spool patterns from Fresh Lemons I knew I wanted to use it for her pincushion.
She was probably one of the first friends I made on-line and has been so helpful and supportive over the years.
I couldn't tell you where I found these friendship sayings but they are perfect for the backs of these pincushions. I knew if I held onto them long enough I would find the perfect use for them!
I also made a few of these beauties for some more local friends. I fussy cut a design out of some fabric and needle turned appliqued them to some pretty blue fabric. I added a little bling from the button jar to finish it off.
I still have a few more pincushions I want to make but I had to put this project aside for a bit to finish off some holiday gifts. Maybe after the first of the year, I will have some more to share.
And I cannot go away without sharing this cute little pincushion brought to me last week by a friend. I had given her the button fabric from my stash and it came back as a mouse.
So Darn Adorable!

Can you believe I've never made a pincushion!! I love these, especially the size of the square.
Gah! I love all of these and especially with the sweet little messages on the back! I swear that one day I will make me a new pin cushion. Maybe after the holidays...I say...along with a million other things! Super cute Cynthia!
I, too, use my new pincushion daily, and love it, especially the saying on the back! Your pincushion gifts are perfect for friends. I think I will make some more myself!
Awesomeness! These are all so cute. Thanks for the link to the tutorial at Fresh Lemons.
Great looking pin cushions!
Those are so sweet! What a nice way to share with friends, and the little sayings make the gifts even better!
Cute pincushions. I don't think I've met a pincushion I didn't like.
Each of these pincushions is so special! The words of friendship make them even more so. I love how you tailored each one to its recipient Cindy!
Erg! I meant to type "Cyndy". So sorry, force of habit sometimes takes over.
LOL, I'm still laughing - I didn't realize my special pin cushion was a spool of thread! I've been keeping it set sideways, apparently. Oh, gee, I'm really dense sometimes. Thanks for stickin' with me!
Just adorable - all of them. The fabrics, the design...very cool.
Little works of art and useful as well. Great combination:))
They are all so beautiful!! Love the Kaffe Fassett especially.
I love the messages on the back - such a lovely and thoughtful touch!
Such cute projects. I love the hidden messages.
What neat pin cushions!!! I have actually never made one :)
