For the second week of May is for Makers, I wanted to thank someone who continuously inspires my scrappy side. And that is Emily over at Em's Scrapbag. I have learned so much from the beautiful scrap quilts she shares on her blog, so I really wanted to send some love her way and buy one of her patterns.
I purchased her Mountain Retreat quilt pattern from her pattern store. I have been hoarding some denim blue yarn dyed essex linen and I think it will make a wonderful background. Now I just need to decide which fabrics to use for all those mountains. I could go scrappy but I think I am leaning toward a bunch of colorful Kaffe prints. Wouldn't that be pretty!
May is for Makers is a campaign started by Lindsey at LRStitched to remind us to recognize and appreciate those that inspire and share with us. Free patterns are nice but as a Maker myself, I know it doesn't pay the bills!
Thanks Emily for all you share!

I enjoy that blog as well, but somehow missed this pattern. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.
Yes, that would make an awesome background with some bright fabrics, can't wait to see!
That would make an awesome quilt. Can't wait to see the pictures.
That's a neat looking pattern! I love that Essex linen, but have never sewn with it. Where is your favorite place to buy it?
I folloed your link for the pattern cause I too really like it--but I can't find anywhere on Em's website that says what size the quilt actually is. Can you tell me that from your pattern? I'm interested in it but I'm not wanting any more smallish quilts right now. Thanks, Katie.
Love your plan to use the linen background Cyndy! I have some of Em's patterns too and they are great!
