I thought it might be time again to share my Splendid Sampler progress. I am still picking and choosing which blocks to sew up as they are released. I don't feel many of the embroidered or even the applique blocks fit my vision for this quilt so I have been making a few alternate blocks as I come across them.
Here are the four Splendid Sampler blocks I have completed since I last shared this project with you. The one in the lower left is paper pieced and the others are simply pieced. They all measure 6.5".
I have also made 3 alternate blocks. At the top is my Posies All Around block, the lower left is my rendition of a block released on Earth Day and the lower right is a block I liked from Quiltmaker's 100 Block sampler that is also going on right now.
Currently, 25 blocks have been released. I have made the decision to not make 5 of them but have replaced them all with alternate blocks I have found on various other sites. So far everything has been pulled from my Kaffe Fassett scraps.
It is hard to believe we are already a quarter of the way finished!

So "happy".....the perfect use of Kaffe fabric!!!!!
This is coming along! It reminds me that I'm a few months behind on my Epic Sampler BOM! I better get going on it!
That Earth Day block is perfect it just shouts "Flower Power" and "Psychadelic 70s", so just right for an homage to the origin of that day. Oh, it's really gorgeous, too.
I am working on mine tonight.. I can't believe how quick they are adding up. They all look so different with the fabrics everyone is using. It is wonderful to see the varietes
I love your colorful blocks. This echos the type of colorful & ethnic fabrics I am using for my own SS blocks. I too have substituted blocks that were more of my style. this will be my quilt and will reflect my style all the way.
I love them all! The colors and prints work so perfectly together!!
They all look great so far.
Your blocks look great!
Your blocks look great together. I love how you substitute for some of the blocks.
Wow! What a calliope of color when you put them all together! Will you add sashing when they're all finished, or would that make the quilt too big?
Love all the colour and those blocks look complicated! Thank you for linking up to #scraptastictuesday!
Very pretty! I like how you're putting your own spin on it by adding blocks of your own. Can't wait to see the next quarter!
Your blocks are looking wonderful! I like the added few lighter colours too, gives the darker/brighter Kaffes balance.
Yes! Make it your own! Someday I hope to work with some Kaffe fabrics!
