When I saw Carole's (From my Carolina Home) Maple Leaf block tutorial, I knew I wanted to use it to make a gift for one of my sisters. She loves to decorate and I thought having a fall themed table runner for her table would be perfect. Carole posted the tutorial in early October and here it is the end of November, and I am just getting to it!
I pulled some fall themed fabrics from my stash and made some 12' blocks. The tutorial is for 6" blocks but I just cut my squares at 4.5" for big bold leaves.
I decided to use some of the scraps and make a pieced outer border.
Hopefully it isn't too big for her dining room table. I think it finishes out at about 18" x 54". It probably won't be used until next year as she is someone who gets out the Christmas decoration on the day after Thanksgiving.
I am just pleased with myself for finally getting it finished!
❤ To all of you in the states, have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
Hope it is filled with good food and love! 💖

Lovely! Especially like your border treatment. Can I be your sister?
It is wonderful, I love the colors and the border! Thanks for the mention!
I am in love with maple leaf blocks right now, and yours are perfect for the season! Lucky sister!
P.S. Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you are enjoying a relaxing day!
What a lovely gift for your sister! I rather like the maple leaf design too - living way down in New Zealand maple trees are considered exotics here. All our native trees are evergreens so do not drop their leaves.
The runner is wonderful!
Glad to see you among the bloggers for the latest in the 100 blocks series.
This looks great! What a festive table it will make!

Those large leaves really showcase the fabrics. Very, very pretty!
