Happy Cinco de Mayo!
And to celebrate I finally have a quilt finish to share.
Thanks to the beautiful spring weather, I haven't been spending too much time in my sewing room. But I did find time to quilt up this scrappy quilt top I finished up a couple weeks back.
So many tiny bits of fabric in this one!
It is hard to believe how many different fabric scraps I have. I guess when you make as many quilts as I do, you end up with lots of bits of fabric.
The quilt measures about 50" x 60" so I was able to use a two yard piece of an older striped fabric for the backing. All I had to find was a piece to add to the side for the width I needed. I thought this "where else am I going to use" grape fabric would work perfectly fine!
Colorful scraps are so much fun to play with.
I am continually surprised how they all come together in to one lovely quilt.

I love your grape and turquoise quilt! Were the scraps sewn into blocks to make it? Randomly? Or was there a method to your madness? sure is cheery!
it turned out so great!!!
It turned out gorgeous! I'm pretty in love with the blue/purple ombre effect! Congrats on a finish!
It's beautiful! I love a good crumb quilt!
Wow that is totally beautiful and I would never guess it was only from scraps, it looks so cool.
I love how the colors of purple and blues seem to melt into each other--
very pretty quilt--
enjoy the moments, di
Crumbs, I love crumbs. How beautiful it turned out. It must have been so much fun.
oh love the colors and how they blend!
It's beautiful! All those bits of so many fabrics must be like a quilter's I-spy game :) The grape fabric really is the perfect choice for the backing too.
Love my color saturated scrappy quilts - your's is a beauty!!
Love that quilt. Love how the colors are subtly changing from blue to lilac.
Lovely and the Ombre is perfect. The patience to use those tiny bits, I applaud you.
Really crumby and really yummy! I love it!
It is gorgeous!
I love how the blocks just mould into each other. Lovely
Love those saturated cool colors! The grapes are perfect on the back. Congrats on a fine finish!
Couldn't love that quilt any more! It's a lot of work to put that many crumbs together - not sure I have the patience from that! - but it does pay off! It's so glorious!
Beautiful quilt. The colors are stunning. Great way to use up all those bits of scraps.
Beautiful work. Great selection and placement of the fabrics - and the quilting enhances it all!
A great way to use all those blue/purple scraps, it looks wonderful!
Gorgeous colours. Love the change from purple to blue through the quilt. A lot of work but a great result.
I love this so much, the colourwash from aqua to purple is gorgeous! Do you have any tips or posts on how you constructed the slabs of scraps? I have some scrap baskets that could perhaps benefit from this treatment! Thanks in advance! :)
That is just so yummy! Enjoy!
Congrats on a great finish. I am not amazed by how many different fabrics you have-I am in the same boat, LOL Recently a friend was over and was asking how I go about putting fabrics together as hers doesn't look the same. So I made the mistake of opening one of my closets to show her buy more tone on tone type...she about fell over when she saw how much fabric was in there...that was not even close to all of it, haha.
Oh, I hope you're planning to keep this one for yourself. Look how cuddly it would be on a cold winter's night! Or how cheery on a rainy day :) Just gorgeous!!!
That quilt is the perfect example of why I love scrappy quilts! Just so beautiful! Looks like you found the perfect backing for it, and had fun quilting it, too. Glad to hear you're having good weather for gardening, too, though!
What a gorgeous quilt, Cynthia!!! Must have taken you forever to get the gradation from purple to blue just right. Must be a million times when you moved just one block from here to there.
Beautifully done! Love the color fade from blue to purple. That's so hard to get right and you seem to have mastered it. Congrats on a beautiful scrappy finish.
Wow! This quilt is gorgeous!!
Beautiful quilt! Great job!
I love the colour play in this quilt - the wonderful blending from blue to purple - Nicely done. :)
Gorgeous. I love these colors and the colorwash effect you created.
